1. What makes the HD1 Dome Pro ideal for outdoor use?
It’s designed specifically for the outdoors, rugged, weather-resistant, and mountable on poles, rooftops, or walls.
Unlike typical routers that sit indoors and rely on long antenna cables, the HD1 Dome Pro places everything modem + antennas directly at the signal source, eliminating cable loss for the strongest possible 5G performance.
2. Do I need external antennas or accessories?
No.
The HD1 Dome Pro is fully self-contained with built-in high-gain cellular antennas. This gives you a cleaner, more efficient install—fewer cables, fewer points of failure, and no need to guess which external antenna works best.
3. How is power and data delivered do I need separate cables?
Just one cable does it all.
It uses PoE (Power over Ethernet) for both data and power. That means a single Ethernet cable powers the unit and provides network access. Need to power another device (like a camera or AP)? It also supports PoE output.
4. What about SIM flexibility or managing multiple data plans?
The HD1 Dome Pro supports eSIM and physical SIM cards, but for even more flexibility, you can connect the Peplink SIM Injector allowing you to manage up to 10 SIMs remotely from a single router. Great for swapping between carriers or managing data costs across deployments.
5. Can I manage this remotely or integrate it into a larger network?
Definitely.
With InControl2, Peplink’s cloud management platform, you can:
- Configure and deploy remotely
- Monitor health, usage, and uptime
Create VPNs or SpeedFusion tunnelsThis makes it perfect for enterprise-grade outdoor networks or remote locations where tech access is limited.
